The beauty of Lake Como and its charming Villas were able to attract even the most famous secret agent of the cinema history: James Bond.
The special agent, played by Daniel Craig, spend a period of convalescence with his Bond girl in the wonderful Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como, turned into a clinic for the occasion, after being tortured by Le Chiffre in the movie Casino Royale.
The final scene is shot at Villa La Gaeta, a peculiar castle in neomedieval style: James Bond finds here Mr.White and after shooting him from the stairway that leeds to the front door, utters the famous words: ‘My name is Bond, James Bond’.
